Jealousy, polyamory and start relationships ? Taking walks into the fire

Alright I?ve been meaning to publish something about my views on jealousy, wide open relationships and polyamory for a while, so here it is. Most opinion and ?in the experience? obviously.

Let?s start with a few questions?

Would you agree of which jealousy is basically a feeling that someone else possesses something you don?t, that you simply can?t compare, or which, for whatever reason, you are in hazard of being side-lined or losing the person you look after?

Would you want to be trapped in a relationship along with someone who was disappointed, with someone who recommended someone else but felt trapped with you, or perhaps with someone who had been lying to you?

If you love an individual, would you want them for being happy, to be able to choose their own lifestyle and to be fullfilled in any manner they want?

As far as I can see, jealousy is seeking the first sort of partnership, and trying to constrain the second? but I have that it still seems like the sensible option in some way, even though all of the outcomes of it are terribly destructive and damaging. So let?s consider what the results are without jealousy?

Without coveted by, you run your relationships entirely on the idea that if the partner would prefer to be around someone else, there is no reason trying to trap all of them into being along with you; that if they want to depart, there is no point attempting to force them to continue to be; that if they see someone you feel provides improvement over you, they are traversing to a great person, and when they prefer them to a person, it was never going to operate anyway, because you need someone in your life which prefers you. They will haven?t done anything negative by finding someone that suits them far better ? you love these individuals, so you are happy likely happy. It might be any shitter for you, but the simply other option (entangling them and making them into a reduced relationship) is even worse for both of you.

Bdsm
A healthy way to keep somebody, IMHO, is to be the very best person you can, so you are actually the one they need to be with.

Now, this particular doesn?t always work your way. As an illustration my first better half decided she chosen my best friend and planned to try monogamy with your ex. That?s a shit circumstances, and bad luck for me personally, but I still believe that if I had were standing in their way along with tried to stop the woman even finding out your woman preferred him when you are jealous and gaurded, I will have kept the woman, but I know it will not have been the marriage the lady wanted. There would probably always will be something missing, and in the end we would currently have both been disappointed. It?s like stopping somebody from getting their particular dream job through telling them they should be content with their lot. IMHO that?s not something you do to someone you love.

Which brings us all to open relationships along with poly. You could argue all of the above and still say ?Yeah, however monogamy is still great if you learn the right partner?.

However, which assumes a human is only able to have strong or even sexual feelings first person. This is rubbish for the vast majority of human race, as is proven because most monogamous relationships entail affairs at some point, or even prostitiutes, or repressed longing, as well as dissatisfaction, or no matter what. Often the relationship rebounds and carries on, that is certainly considered a success throughout monogamous terms. But the undeniable fact that one of the partners needed time with someone else demonstrates that the jealousy from the other monogamous partner can be limiting them but not allowing them to be free and fulfilled.

To ensure all sounds great, in theory, but doesn?t take care of feelings of insecurity, and worries in which other people are greater or that you might drop your chosen partner, proper?

Well, for me an important feature about being open along with poly, is that once you actually ?get it? it actually does deal with your feelings of self deprecation! In a jealous/monogamous relationship all those feelings are there, because you are always wondering when your partner would prefer to end up being elsewhere. In an available, or poly, relationship in which ceases to be an issue. When your partner would rather be around someone else they would be. So if they are getting together with you it?s because they wish to, not because they really should. At that point you know they are happy and happy with you, and won?t prefer someone else.

Okay, there is the risk that they can decide they do like someone else better in addition to move on; but that takes place in monogamous relationships way too. Break ups are always shitty, no matter what, but even then, in case you view relationships in this way, there?s a level where you are pleased that at least they?ve got what they wanted and you know you never acquired in their way, as well as it?s a lot easier to handle a break up without recriminations and hate getting involved.

Consequently, IMHO, over time, poly lifestyle in fact deals with jealousy and insecurities by it?s quite nature. If most people are 100% honest and open it up proves you are safe. Complete openness, very good communication and honesty are absolute pre-requisites in addition to deal breakers, but then they will be in any romantic/sexual relationship IMHO.

It?s including being confronted with a wall of fire, which has a magical world outside of it. Somebody informs you the fire won?t burn a person, but it seems nuts to chance this. In the end you go ?fuck it? and also walk into the fire, to find it really doesn?t burn a person. Everyone outside the flames thinks you are ridiculous and will get used up, whereas in fact you can freely explore the globe beyond the fire inside full secure expertise that if it was about to burn you it?d have by now. Everybody back on the ?safe? part has an example of a buddy that entered the fireplace and got burned. The reason being some bits are really hot, and you might properly get a few burns up as you explore, but when you learn things to avoid, you can complete back and forth unscathed.

In case you do get burned a couple of times, it?s better than the alternative of of being trapped and also limited by fear of this unknown and unfounded beliefs IMHO.

I have simply no issue with monogamy, especially if folks have a positive jealousy-free outlook and choose they are both only serious about the other partner, so have no desire to see anyone else. That?s just great. But I think setting it as a ?rule? is definitely unhealthy. I also can?t refute that I would stress about people who are only effective at loving one other man or woman. There is no ?maximum capacity? for enjoy IMHO, so that just may seem to suggest they don?t have much love to go around, and/or are really just looking for anything to cover their own requirements, rather than seeing enjoy as something that will be giving. I?m not, nevertheless, saying that people who prefer to be monogamous are wrong! It?s possible they just see strolling into the fire for an unnecessary risk simply because have everything they need about this side, or maybe they do have a limit to how much love they can give ? either way, if it?s meets your needs and you are both content, that?s wonderful.

If you are embarking on a new open or perhaps poly life, however, and also finding it difficult to challenge your jealousy along with insecurities, maybe this philosophy could be valuable. Sometimes it?s good to get an idea why you are performing something, especially if it?s against social norms and your upbringing. Detail writing can help one individual to face their own emotions in a positive means it was worth the effort to write it.

I?ve found that reconsidering this view if things obtain rocky is useful, as it identifies real inner thoughts. If you are feeling jealous and think through the succession of ideas We offer above, you could realise it?s actually something else: maybe fear you are losing someone as an illustration. By putting that will feeling into this particular context you might find on your own dealing with it incredibly differently. Whereas some sort of jealous reaction to that will feeling would be to travel into a rage and possess an argument (thereby most likely damaging the relationship an individual hope to save), your rational response to a fear you are losing somebody (rather than jealousy) would be to sit down and say to them how you feel, and ask what the deal is. NOT that you are feeling envious ? there?s nothing any person but you can do with that ? but that you will be afraid something will be wrong with the romantic relationship. Neither approach will stop you losing anybody if they are unhappy, nevertheless the second way prevents nastiness, is far more likely to mend the relationship, and eliminates anyone being held in an unhappy situation.

Mark Hyman, MD: How to Rewire Your Brain to End Food Cravings

I'm a food addict. We all are. Our brains are biologically driven to seek and devour high-calorie, fatty foods. The difference is that I have learned how to control those primitive parts of my brain. Anyone can this if they know how. In this article, I will share three steps to help you counteract those primitive parts of your brain that have you chasing high-calorie, nutrient-poor foods. But before you can update your brain's biological software, you've got to understand why it developed in the first place.

Calories = Survival

The brain's desire to binge on rich food is a genetic holdover from the days of hunter-gatherers. Given what scientists know today about our early ancestors it makes sense that our brains are hardwired to fixate on high-calorie foods. It's a survival mechanism. Eating as many calories as possible, whenever possible, allowed our ancestors to store excess calories as fat and survive lean times. That approach worked well for 2.4 million years, but today it's making us sick and fat.

That's because our brains haven't evolved as fast as our food environment. The human brain evolved over 2.5 million years. And, with the exception of the last 10,000 years, people only ate animals they could hunt and wild plants they could gather. Imagine if you could only eat what you caught or picked! The variety of foods hunter-gatherers ate paled in comparison to the 40,000 different food items we can buy in the average big-box grocery store today (1).

No cinnamon buns for them!

And whereas we have easy access to food 24/7, drive-thru meals were not an option for hunter-gatherers. Not to mention that hunting and gathering was hard work. Early humans expended lots of calories acquiring their food, so they needed to eat high-calorie foods to offset the loss. The average hunter-gatherer got up to 60 percent of his calories from animal foods, such as muscle meat, fat, and organ meat, and the other 40 percent from plants (2).

That balance between protein and carbohydrates in the diet is where the problem lies, but it's not what you think. Carbohydrates have gotten a bad rap, but they are the single most important nutrient for long-term health and weight loss. But I'm not talking about bagels and donuts. I'm talking about plant foods that more closely resemble what our ancestors ate. Hunter-gatherers ate fruit, tubers, seeds, and nuts. These are whole foods. They are full of fiber, vitamins, minerals and disease- and weight-busting colorful phytochemicals. They also take time to digest. Therefore, they raise blood sugar slowly, which balances metabolism and offers a steady stream of energy. Whole foods have all the right information and turn on all the right genes.

But the past 10,000 years saw the advent of both agriculture and industrialization. And, in the blink of an eye (by evolutionary standards), the human diet got turned upside down. Today, 60 percent of our calories come from things that hunter-gatherers wouldn't even recognize as food. The bulk of those items -- cereal grains, sugary drinks, refined oils and dressings -- are simple carbohydrates (3). The primitive brain sees an endless supply of easy energy. Left unchecked, our bodies pay the price. The result is a two-fronted epidemic of obesity and diabetes in our country -- what I call diabesity.

The Blood Sugar Cascade

When you eat simple carbohydrates, whether as sugar or as starch, they pass almost instantaneously from the gut into the bloodstream. Within seconds blood sugar levels start to rise. To counter the increase in sugar, the body releases insulin. Insulin is the key that unlocks the cells and allows sugar to enter. As sugar enters the cells, the amount of sugar in the blood declines and the body restores homeostasis.

An abundance of simple sugars in the diet goads the body into releasing more and more insulin. Eventually, the cellular locks get worn down from overuse. Like a key that's lost its teeth, insulin loses its ability to easily open the cellular door. The cells become numb to the effects of insulin. As a result, the body pumps out more and more of the hormone to keep its blood sugar levels in check. Eventually, this cycle leads to a dangerous condition called insulin resistance. Insulin resistance -- at the root of diabesity -- causes you to gain belly fat, raises your blood pressure, messes up your cholesterol, makes you infertile, kills your sex drive, makes you depressed, tired, and demented, and even leads to cancer.

3 Ways to Reprogram Your Brain

Luckily, there are ways to rewire the primitive parts of your brain by making good food choices. Here are three ways to get started. For more suggestions on how to wrestle control from your reptilian brain, see Chapter 15 of The Blood Sugar Solution.

  • Balance blood sugar. Blood sugar highs and lows drive primitive food cravings. If you get famished between meals, that's a sign that your blood sugar is crashing. When blood sugar is low, you'll eat anything. To better balance blood sugar, eat a small meal or snack that includes healthy protein, like seeds or nuts, every 3 to 4 hours.
  • Eliminate liquid calories and artificial sweeteners. Early humans didn't reach for soda or fruit juices when they got thirsty. Sodas are full of chemicals and high fructose corn syrup. Processed fruit juices are awash in sugar. Try sticking with water and green tea. Green tea contains plant chemicals that are good for your health. And, last but not least, don't succumb to the diet drink trap. The artificial sweeteners in diet drinks fool the body into thinking it is ingesting sugar, which creates the same insulin spike as regular sugar.
  • Eat a high-quality protein at breakfast. Ideally, you're eating quality protein at every meal, but, if you need to prioritize one meal, choose breakfast. Studies show that waking up to a healthy protein, such as eggs, nuts, seeds, nut butters or a protein shake (see my UltraShake recipe) help people lose weight, reduce cravings and burn calories.

Ultimately, you may not control your genes but you do control what and how you eat. Since taking control and changing my diet, my brain no longer caves into the cravings and urgings that seduce the reptilian brain. The most powerful tool you have to transform your health is your fork! Use it well and you will thrive.

One Direction Get Celebs Dancing At Kids' Choice Awards

'What Makes You Beautiful' performance has Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and even first lady Michelle Obama on their feet.

One Direction continued their Stateside takeover Saturday (March 31) at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

And there was no question about their popularity: The piercing screams from the crowd when their performance was announced was enough confirmation. The boys drove the girls even wilder when just their outlines appeared before they kicked into their song "What Makes You Beautiful" and emerged onstage.

Every girl in the audience — including Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Ashley Tisdale and their posse of ladies — knew all the words and sang along. Even first lady Michelle Obama couldn't keep herself from clapping!

The guys' dapper style was in full force, with each member wearing a different black-and-white look. Ginormous white bouncy balls went flying through the crowd throughout the performance, and the OD dudes finished their set by knocking a few of the orbs back into the audience with huge grins on their faces.

Even before their Kids' Choice performance, it was pretty clear One Direction were making a big impression on America. Just a few weeks ago, OD's Up All Night made Billboard history by becoming the first debut album by British group to enter the chart at #1, and the album also topped the charts in 15 other countries.

And their U.S. television appearances didn't begin and end with the KCA: One Direction promoted their first album on the "Today" show earlier this month, and next week, they will be the musical guests on "Saturday Night Live."

"We obviously get American TV in the U.K., and I've watched 'Saturday Night Live' before ... and 'Saturday Night Live' is a big, big deal, everyone knows that. And when we got invited on, we couldn't believe it," One Direction's Niall Horan told MTV News last week. "Again, we haven't spent a lot of time here, so a lot of people don't know who we are, so to be invited on such a prestigious American show is pretty amazing."

Home Improvement Project: Getting Roof Repairs

As clich? as it may sound, home is TRULY where the heart is. A home is not just any house; it is a place where people care about each other, laugh together, shed tears together, and stay blissful with each other's company despite trials that come along the way. Simply put, a person's home is the only place in the world where he/she feels loved, comfortable, and welcomed at all times.

?

Homes are practically part of everyone's family, which is why it's important to keep it safe and beautiful. One way to do so is by pushing through with your shelved home improvement projects. Home improvement is a responsibility that should not be set aside because it increases your home's curb appeal and safety, while making it perfectly capable of accommodating your lifestyle needs.

For every home improvement project, the starting point should ALWAYS be the roof.

?

The roof plays one of the most important roles in home safety. It serves as the home's helmet, protecting you and your belongings from severe weather conditions. Roofs are known to last an average of 15 to 30 years, but this lifespan can be reduced by more than half, especially during natural disasters and with prolonged exposure to intense heat from the sun.

?

Homeowners are advised to hold periodical roof inspections to determine whether the home is still safe for living. The best time to evaluate the roof's health is during the autumn months, which gives you enough time to prepare for winter, as it the season that puts the most strain on the roof because of heavy snow and hailstones.

Hail accounts for nearly 1.6 billion dollars worth of roof damage every year, catapulting it to the top of your watch list.

?

Utah is known for its extremely cold winter temperatures because of its elevated location. Although the state only experiences a few days of thunderstorms, these storms are usually intense and are likely to cause severe roof damage. Remember that even the smallest leak is a threat to your safety. If you find signs of damage during your roof inspection, you may want to consider getting Utah roof repair services immediately.

?

Utah roof repair companies can whip up a treatment plan for your roof. They are staffed with first-class contractors who have extensive knowledge on roof-related problems. In addition, roof repairs can make your home more energy-efficient?timely fixes ward off damage that leads to heat loss in cold weather and the opposite in warm weather.

?

Repairing the roof is a simple home improvement project. If roof damage becomes irreparable, you may want to consider a re-roof Utah contractors offer. To learn more about re-roofing, visit Re-Roofing.com for detailed information.
